I requested an absentee ballot in the mail, and after receiving it, I filled it out, put it in the secrecy envelope, put that in the return envelope, signed it, and delivered it in person at City Hall. Easier than waiting in line to vote in person, no delays or tampering along the way (support your postal workers’ unions! they are doing good work despite sabotage by the USPS administration), and the lowest risk of COVID 👍🏾! Don’t get it twisted: voting is one tactic. Necessary, but not sufficient. For all the successes Black people attain, we face retaliation, repression, and resentment. Keep your local community in mind when you try to act on your priorities.
